چکیده
Mexico, similarly to other developing countries, has planned landfilling as the central technology manage municipal solid waste (MSW). In this research, current and future situation of final disposal MSW in Mexico was studied, focusing on spatial temporal evaluation sites (FDS), landfill gas (LFG) emissions, potential power generation an 80-year horizon. Estimation of landfill gas generation in a municipal solid waste disposal site by LandGEM mathematical model
Anaerobic decomposition of organic compounds in landfills is responsible for generation of greenhouse gases. The present study aimed to determine the total gas and methane emission from a landfill located in Hamedan (west of Iran) from 2011 to 2030. LandGEM 3.02 model was used to estimate the gas emission with the volumetric methane percent of 60%, production potential of 107, and methane gener...
متن کاملMunicipal Solid Waste Generation and Characterization in Ensenada, Mexico
A comprehensive study of the generation and characterization of municipal solid waste is essential to the longterm efficient and economical planning for solid waste management. The aim of this study was to quantify and analyze the solid waste generated in the city of Ensenada, Mexico, and to use this data in a project that will generate energy through methane gas production. Ensenada’s per capi...
متن کاملCredibilistic TOPSIS Model for Evaluation and Selection of Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Methods
Municipal solid waste management (MSWM) is a challenging issue of urban development in developing countries. Each country having different socio-economic-environmental background, might not accept a particular disposal method as the optimal choice. Selection of suitable disposal method in MSWM, under vague and imprecise information can be considered as multi criteria decision making problem (MC...
متن کاملMunicipal solid waste management in India: From waste disposal to recovery of resources?
Unlike that of western countries, the solid waste of Asian cities is often comprised of 70-80% organic matter, dirt and dust. Composting is considered to be the best option to deal with the waste generated. Composting helps reduce the waste transported to and disposed of in landfills. During the course of the research, the author learned that several developing countries established large-scale...
